Overview

India is an welfare state, the Goverenment takes primary responsibilty for the welfare of its citizens,as in matters of health care, education, employment, infrastructure, Social and other development needs . To facilitate these ,Government needs revenue. So Taxation is the means by which a government or the taxing authority imposes or levoies a tax on its  citizens  and business entities.

There are two of taxes:

1. Direct Tax

2. Indirect Tax

Tax, of which incidence and impact fall on the same person, is known as direct tax, such as Income Tax. On the other hand,tax ,of which incidence and impact fall on two diffrent persons , is known as indirect tax, such as GST,etc
